Research

At Brave Foundation we believe it is necessary to research the best standard of care and outreach extended to women and their families experiencing unplanned pregnancy. This is a high value for an organisation as we endeavour to see that such standards are transitioned into Australia.

'Brave Foundation' Research

We believe that if women facing unplanned pregnancy have access to support, they have the opportunity of being in a happy, healthy skilled family, with healthy children over time.
Currently, we also believe there are gaps in the system, and due to these, this outcome is sometimes not achieved. We have recognised three areas of research which will support our desired outcome:

  • Desk top worldwide research of best practice for care of women facing unexpected pregnancy continuing their education.
  • Examination of tertiary content in Education, Medicine and Midwifery courses, relating to encouraging women facing unplanned/ teenage pregnancy to continue with their education and well being from early pregnancy through to parenting
  • Creating a culture of support in health professional’s education.
  • Continue developing a comprehensive and collaborative directory of services Australia wide, showing how women facing teen pregnancy/parenting have access to education and community support. This will be marketed heavily nationwide for early outreach and public awareness.
  • Generate public awareness and public education resulting in support of these women

Examine best practice delivery of services. Brave Foundation believes that services exist but are not provided early enough for a long term positive outcomes.
